Syntropy
Who's behind Syntropy
Syntropy is my portfolio, my personal lab, and also one of my projects: this website was designed, structured, and developed from scratch by me.
Idunn Freya is my professional name. I'm a web developer and systems designer: I turn ideas, processes, and data into digital structures that work. My approach combines backend development (Python/Django), information architecture, and technical documentation with experience in drafting, CAD/3D environments (AutoCAD/FreeCAD, Blender).
This site showcases selected projects, processes, and pieces. The Syntropy case study, available in the projects section, documents the construction process behind this portfolio: structure, design decisions, tools used, and development logic.
If you need a full CV or references, they are available upon request.
Profile
My profile is defined less by the tools I use and more by how I think: *I see structure before detail, identify relationships between parts, and detect dependencies, gaps, and redundancies. I need to understand the whole system to work well — and that is exactly what I bring to the table.
I work especially well at turning scattered ideas into operable systems: I analyze actors, workflows, usage rules, exceptions, validations, and friction points to transform real-world processes into clear and maintainable digital structures.
I help transform real-world work processes into clear digital systems: I analyze workflows, identify bottlenecks, document requirements, model data, and translate operational needs into a functional architecture designed for growth.
Trained in Web Application Development (vocational degree), with a previous background in technical drafting, documentation, and 3D visualization. That combination allows me to work comfortably on projects where the functional, the visual, and the documental need to fit together.
What I do
- Functional analysis and systems architecture: inefficiency detection, actor modeling, information flows, usage rules, exceptions, validations, and digital product structure.
- Backend development: web applications with Django (models, ORM, admin), PostgreSQL databases, APIs.
- Infrastructure and operations: deployment with Docker/Compose, Linux, Git, incident resolution.
- Documentation and processes: document organization, operational guides, traceability, process analysis.
- Visualization and technical design: CAD/3D support (AutoCAD/FreeCAD, Blender), web assets (Inkscape/GIMP).
How I work
I think in systems, not isolated screens. Before writing code, I need to understand what problem it solves, how it scales, and what can go wrong. I prioritize maintainability, documentation as part of the process, and solutions that someone else can operate after me.
I do my best work on projects that require bringing together logic, structure, and clarity — specialized software, digital products, information systems, internal tools, or complex processes that need to be organized. Available for remote collaborations.
